Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care has high priority at Holy Rosary school.  We endeavour to provide a strong sense of wellbeing, belonging and security, that affirms students in their dignity and worth, so that each individual can achieve their full potential physically, socially, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.  All members of our school community are encouraged to nurture the well-being of others.
An integral feature of Pastoral Care is the commitment to partnership and shared responsibility among staff, students, parents and other family members. This partnership requires a relationship of trust and co-operation between all parties. It endeavours to provide a safe and secure environment and strives to optimize the potential of each individual.
Through Pastoral Care the school strives to:

  •  enable each individual to grow and develop as caring members of God’s family
  •  provide assistance and support for individuals or families who require assistance
  •  improve communications within the school
  • promote the development of positive relationships between all members of the school community
  • assist students to value themselves and to experience a positive well-being

Holy Rosary has employed a staff member to specifically oversee the Pastoral Care in our school. Some funding is received from the Commonwealth Government under the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program with the required balance provided by the school.

Through this Program specific sessions are implemented to meet the needs of the students and help them develop a positive well-being.  Some of these sessions are:

  • Rock & Water
  • Building Resilience & Managing Difficult Emotions
  • Games for Life Skills
  • Student Leadership Program
  • Seasons for Growth
